Quote: "The price of water services must not force households to sacrifice other essential needs such as food, housing, education and health care."
Comment: In any case I believe water from the tap should be free. If the world was using the water resources like we should be we wouldn't be ruining into the problems we are facing at this moment in time. The cycle that should happen for water to return to the ground isn't happening any more and people have noticed this a problem.
Connection: My family and I moved from a house that we had to pay a water bill every month to an apartment where we don't have to pay a monthly water bill I think it should be like this any where you live.
Question: If we know the problem why is it so hard for us to fix it especially if we know an ethical solution?
Quote: "Nitrate contamination has been a recurring issue in California’s San Joaquin Valley, where 92 local drinking water systems exceeded the standard for nitrates, threatening the health of 1.3 million people.18 The health risks associated with nitrate pollution include blue baby syndrome, respiratory tract infections in children, thyroid disruption, pancreatitis and various cancers."
Comment: I think that making sure the water that's being treated is safe for humans to drink. This can cause lots of people health issues and may be very bad for California in the long run.
Connection: I can connect with my quote because i currently suffer from thyroid disease and any flare up from drinking contaminated water can be very bad for me. Just as little as missing one dose of medication can send my body into hyperactive mode. I couldn't imagine what would happen if I was poisoned by a nitrate it could potentially life threatening.
Question: when will they have the money to get families clean water they need?
Quote: "More than four percent of American Indian and Alaska Native households lacked complete plumbing facilities. They were nearly ten times more likely than white households to be without water and sanitation service. Access to affordable water is inadequate on many Native American reservations"
Comment: I don't understand how any authority could let something like this happen. I am in total shock
Connection: I think they consider Native Americanise minorities like they do African Americans and they feel they don't deserve to be treated equally.
Question: Why would the world or whoever made native reservations think it was okay to not give them the proper sanitation systems?
Quote: "The United States is the largest single donor country to the World Bank Group, which remains the largest external source of financing for water management in developing countries"
Comment: I think alot of other contrys should do this as well it could really help the world in the water crisis we are in.
Connection: if we all work together to fix the water problem we can have fresh water and no one will have to suffer no matter there soicial status
Question: What kind of efforts is the government making to be sure everyone is getting fresh water?

Veg-O-Might
Q: I had tow pieces of fried chicken, rice, and salad," he recalls. for some reason, he couldn't stop glaring at the chicken. "I was thinking about all the killing and destruction going on in the world.
Q: I wonder why he desired to become a vegan body builder. Was it to prove a point to people?
C: The quot that I chose was interesting to me because that's really the only sentence that stood out to me. I have thought about becoming a vegetarian in the passed or at least reducing my meat intake, but I haven't had a moment were I had a deep thought about why I didn't want to eat it anymore. I have watched the food inc documentary but it still hasn't done the trick. Maybe one day i will have a strange epiphany about meat and completely have a different mind set.
Spoiled
Q: Because the typical farmers markets supplied by dozens of different farms, each transporting its crops in a separate van or truck, a 20 pound shopping basket of locally grown produce might actually represent a larger carbon footprint than the same volume of produce purchased at a chain retailer which gets its produce in mass, via large trucks.
Q: I wonder what is actually helping our environment, getting our crops locally or from the local grocery stores.
C: I used to visit my local farmers market every Sunday and i loved it. I talked to people about there jobs, and what they did. It seemed to me like it could be helping the community But i am just kind of curios about whats really going on in the world.
Beets in the hood
Q: "right down the street was the largest housing project"
Q: I wonder wonder what his doubts were about starting this market in the "hood"? Did he have doubts?
C: That was great of him to step out there and take a chance to help other people. I know in the store up the street from my house there is a section for organic food. It is actually more expensive than the regular vegetables, and we never get the the organic kind for that simple fact. I believe it should be that way we should all be able to receive great vegetables no matter how much money we have. We should be able to at least have the choice.
